Winner of the Food Snob 2019 “Platter Off” Awards

New Zealand’s fine food company, ‘Food snob’ set out in October of last year to find New Zealand’s best platter artist of 2019. The Platter Share made it into the top 4 caterers in the country. Us from Wanaka and the others from Christchurch, Bay Of Plenty & Auckland.

On October 25th each finalist was sent a huge product hamper from Food Snob and had to create the best table to win. We went the extra mile (as always) by hand crafting all our components, poaching the pears and smoking the salmon. It had to look fantastic but needed to taste as brilliant too!

I am not one to let great food go to waste so I organised an afternoon garden party with so many of our followers and friends to come and enjoy the table after it had been photographed and judged!

The content and judging went live that night and over the next three weeks the country had a chance to view and vote (their votes purely off the visual of course as they never got the chance to try it).I didn’t put much effort into campaigning to get votes rather, let it happen organically.

On the day the winner was announced I was cooking in my kitchen when two ladies walked up to me with a giant novelty cheque. ‘Oh shit, did I win?’ I said to them. I couldn’t believe it. They had flown all the way down from Auckland to congratulate our business in person on the national award.
We won $3000 and the right to say we are New Zealand’s best grazing table company!
