FAQ - Grazing Tables

  • Is a grazing table enough to substitute as a meal?

    Each table provides substantial grazing per person but is not a full meal. You have the option to upgrade your grazing table to ‘feed’ each guest with our grazing table upgrade option.

  • Our grazing table event starts is at ‘X’ time, when do you set up?

    We need between 1-3 hours (depending on length booked) to transform your table or space into grazing heaven.

  • Can I just order online?

    No. Please make an inquiry with us first so we can be sure you are able to take your booking so you are not left disappointed.

  • Do you supply the tables?

    All tables are to be provided by the client/Venue. Tables must be provided in a cool area away from sunlight. Food on the grazing table can be left out for up to 3 hours.

  • Can I choose what goes on my table?

    Our seasonal grazing tables are ever changing and always abundant. We don’t have menus for you to choose from but be assured, there will be a wide selection of chef made and local goodies to delight everyone. If you have seen something we have done before, you are welcome to request this. We always love a suggestion!

  • What needs to be done about the left-over food?

    We will always try to avoid food waste but should there be any food left over after your event this will not be the responsibility of The Platter Share. You are welcome to pack away leftovers yourself. We do however offer a pack down service . We will return within 3 hours after your graze & will clean and tidy the area making your event catering effortless.

  • Do I have to do anything on the day?

    No. We have got you! We provide full set up and pack down as well as bamboo boats, napkins and all the serve ware tools.

  • How long have you been operating and do you hold a license?

    The Platter Share has been operating 5 years now. Our commercial kitchen is a licensed food premise with the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI). At all times we maintain a standard of hygiene and cleanliness, in agreement with appropriate bylaws and food safety regulations, including correct food storage and handling. All staff are trained in food hygiene systems.

  • Some of our guests have allergies, can you accommodate this?

    Yes! We are happy to try accomodate and customise to suit however we never guarantee 100% food will be free of specified allergins.

  • Will I need to compensate for travel?

    We are based in Wanaka and travel costs apply to Queenstown and surrounding areas. We do not charge for venues that are in our radius (40 minute round trip). We travel all around the region creating amazing Grazing Tables, but for certain bookings it would not make sense to travel two hours for a small graze so we take each job on a case by case basis.

  • Will I need to pay a deposit?

    A 25% deposit is required upon confirmation of order. The remaining balance will be due 14 days before your event. We do not hold dates. No refunds will be given, however we can offer date changes if we are told in advance.

FAQ - Weddings & Events

  • My venue has no kitchen, can you still cater for us?

    Absolutely. We are totally mobile and have a large kitchen we tow with us everywhere we need. We will bring in all catering equipment from serve ware, marquee kitchen set up, linen, fresh water through to the kitchen sink!

  • Do you provide alcohol / bar service?

    Yes we can provide you with full bar service either onsite or at your chosen venue. We work with multiple suppliers and can provide you with bar options to suit. Bar service can include a mobile or stationary bar, glassware, duty manager and professional bar staffing.

  • Do you provide for dietary requirements?

    We are able to cater for most dietary requirements. When designing your menu we will take into account any dietary requirements you have and normally there is no extra charge for this. Our graze and banquet menu has also been designed with dietary requirements in mind. We never guarantee 100% that food will be free of specified allergensns as we operate from only one commercial kitchen that has a number of allergensns in it daily.

  • How do I book my wedding or event?

    As events are often a lot more complicated and involve more details, we ask that you send an enquiry to us, detailing what you are wanting and for when, using our online contact form. Once we have confirmed our availability we will work with you to plan your event & send you a copy of our information packs and menus.

  • What kind of food can you cater?

    We do not offer plated food. All our food is share style, like out name! Tapas, grazing boards, table banquet (share plates down the middle of the table) and buffet/banquet. Our mason jar desserts are individual. We specialise in creative and delicious food and we would love to create a menu and food experience that’s perfect for your event.

  • Do you supply staff?

    Yes we do. We will quote staffing based on the number of guests and your on day requirements. Our staff have extensive experience across both food and drinks service, and are ready to help you with whatever you need.
